Black mission figs are one of my favorite ingredients. This rustic-style tart captures everything that's great about Black Mission figs: their heady perfume, their burst-in-your-mouth honey flavor, and their gorgeous rosy flesh. To temper that natural sweetness, we add a baked cream cheese filling, chopped Sicilian pistachios, and a port syrup bolstered by the pleasing bite of sherry vinegar.
