Banh mi, the most beloved of the Asian sandwiches, gets a stylish makeover thanks to the braised tofu featured as the main ingredient in this tasty version. We give you all the other necessary components— soft yet crusty baguette, cilantro sprigs, jalapeño, pickled vegetables, and spicy Sriracha mayo—all for you to build the sandwiches yourself. All you need is basic kitchen equipment (pots/pans, bowls, a knife, salt, pepper, oil) and around 15 minutes, and you’ve got mighty tasty Vietnamese sandwiches for two coming out of your own kitchen.

Slightly flat. Would be better with chicken

Needed a little fish sauce and soy sauce. Also it helps if you heat the bun in the oven first. Moisten it with water and heat it for five minutes until crispy.
