  • No Nuts Added
In Texas, black-eyed peas are customarily served on New Year's Day to bring good luck in the new year. So the same must be true the rest of year, right? You won't need any luck when you're fortunate enough to try this rustic soup made with bits of smoky sausage, shredded kale, and whole black-eyed peas. The flavor is both Southern and satisfying in this hearty soup.

There was one pea and one bean in the soup. It was tasty but nothing that faintly resembles the photo.

Good, but not great. It had a ton of sausage, which is nice, but a poor amount of kale or black-eyed peas.

Great combination of flavors, however more Black Eye Peas need to be added to balance out with the Kale and Sausage.

Lots of sausage and black-eyed peas, which some may like, but there were hardly any veggies to balance the dish. Additionally, I found the broth to be too salty. It might work better if they let us add extra salt in ourselves.
